Nandi extended a warm welcome to the numerous guests in attendance, emphasizing the importance of their positive support for the university. Specifically, he urged leaders to contribute to the university's growth by encouraging more students, particularly from Vihiga County, to enroll.

During the ceremony, the acting Vice Chancellor delivered a compelling address to the graduating students, offering sage advice as they prepare to enter the professional realm and embark on their journey of job creation. Emphasizing the importance of upholding virtues, he urged the graduands to embody integrity and excellence in their endeavors.

Furthermore, the acting Vice Chancellor encouraged the graduates to actively engage with the University's alumni network, viewing it as a valuable community to foster connections, share experiences, and contribute to the institution's ongoing progress. He underscored the pivotal role they could play in supporting the university's development, urging them to become exemplary ambassadors who positively represent the alma mater in their respective fields. In essence, his message aimed to inspire a sense of responsibility and commitment among the graduates as they transition from academia to the broader landscape of professional and societal contributions.

The highlight of the event was the conferral of degrees and certificates by the University Pro Chancellor, Dr. Bernadette Mungai. A total of 457 graduands from four distinguished schools were honored: the School of Education and Social Sciences, the School of Science, the School of Business and Economics, and the School of Computing and Information Technology.

Adding to the significance of the occasion, the university marked the official launch of ISO 9001:2015.
