KAFU VC engaging the neighbouring community from Muhudu and Maganda

A meeting held on 10/4/2024 between the senior management team of Kaimosi Friends University, led by the acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter Mwita, and esteemed members of the university's neighboring communities, Friends Church leadership, and local leaders from Maganda and Muhudu villages with an aim of fostering good relationships. This gathering marked a crucial moment of collaboration and consensus-building, resulting in a series of impactful agreements aimed at nurturing mutual understanding, cultural preservation, and sustainable development.

Central to the discussions was the shared commitment to fostering harmonious relations between KAFU and its neighboring communities. Recognizing the significance of preserving the rich heritage of the Tiriki Culture and Shrines, all parties enthusiastically endorsed the establishment of a Preservation and Research Center within the university premises. This initiative signifies a collective dedication to safeguarding cultural identity and promoting scholarly inquiry into local traditions.

Moreover, the meeting witnessed a concerted push for infrastructure development, particularly the enhancement of road networks within the Kaimosi Complex and neighboring villages. Acknowledging the importance of accessible and well-maintained roads for community connectivity and economic growth, stakeholders rallied behind this endeavor as a means to improve the quality of life for all residents.

In a gesture of inclusive growth, KAFU committed to offering job opportunities to individuals residing in the university's vicinity. By harnessing the local talent pool, the institution aims to not only provide employment but also foster a sense of belonging and shared prosperity within the community through a spiral effect from opportunities that have arisen.

As a result of these agreements, a new chapter of partnership and progress has been forged between KAFU and its surrounding communities. With a focus on collaboration, cultural preservation, and socio-economic empowerment, this collective endeavor exemplifies the transformative potential of university-community engagement. Through sustained efforts and mutual respect, the path towards a brighter, more inclusive future for all stakeholders is illuminated.
