Kaimosi Friends University on 7th October 2025, held a vibrant Staff Sensitization Programme on E-Government Procurement (e-GP) a major milestone in promoting transparency, accountability, efficiency, and value for money in institutional operations.
Dr. Fozia Nurwin, Chief Procurement Officer, leads staff through an interactive session on the E-Government Procurement (e-GP) system at Kaimosi Friends University.
The interactive training, led by Dr. Fozia Nurwin, the Chief Procurement Officer, sought to demystify the e-GP process and equip staff with the practical skills required to operate within Kenya’s modern digital procurement system. Participants were taken through modules on budget and procurement planning, supplier registration for both existing and potential vendors, and procedures for raising requisitions and approvals under the new digital framework.
Speaking during the session, Dr. Fozia Nurwin emphasized the importance of adaptability and digital literacy in today’s fast-evolving public service environment.
“E-procurement is not just a compliance requirement, it’s a gateway to greater efficiency and accountability. Through this system, we ensure every transaction is traceable, every process is transparent, and every decision contributes to prudent financial management and institutional integrity.” she said.
Representing the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Finance, Planning and Development), Prof. Thomas Kipkurgat, was Dr. Remmy Shiundu, Director of Kobujoi, commended the initiative and encouraged staff to embrace the digital shift wholeheartedly.

“The move to e-GP is a bold step toward transforming how we manage our resources. By digitizing our procurement processes, we are not only reducing paperwork and human error but also enhancing accountability and building a culture of trust and professionalism across all departments.” he remarked.
Dr. Shiundu further challenged staff to view the new system as an enabler of service excellence rather than a hurdle, calling on all units to fully support the university’s digital transformation agenda.
The sensitization reflects KAFU’s strong alignment with the Government of Kenya’s Vision 2030, Vision 2050, Agenda 2063, and the BETA Agenda, as well as the university’s Strategic Plan (2023–2027) all of which underscore technology as a key driver of economic growth and sustainable development.
As Kaimosi Friends University continues to digitize its processes, it remains steadfast in its commitment to transparency, innovation, and service excellence, truly living up to its proud motto “The Spring of Knowledge.”
